To Erebor? To Assissst Gandalf... Bombyzz Really Curious if PJ... Explainz that? What iz Elrondzz Excuse? Same w/ G-Girl & S-man.. Elrond & Galadriel are BOTH a bit of a "Recluse' He in hiz Hidden Valley? Her in her Hidden Forest? Saruman is even more sooo. Hiz Tall Tower with Slaves, Pouring over Books in hiz Library BUT when they Do What Do do... at Dol Guldur they Already know the Dwarves are on their Mission. THERE needz to be some Valid Reason.. bomz Stumped?

I imagine that, what they are 'do-doing' is making sure that Sauron and the Nazz don't go to the battle, at least that's going to be their excuse [braaawk]...Seriously, Saruman could use this excuse not to aid in the battle because he hopes that without his aid Erebor will be won by Azog... Elrond may need to accompany his MIL (G-gyrl) to a place of healing or safety...(???) Did I 'nail it'??

WHY didn't the White Council go to Erebeor After Dol Guldur..? - that would make things even more complicated and result in an even longer movie. (Or the opposite. I'm guessing they'd make quick work of Azog, Bolg and quite a few other minions leaving the other good guys nothing to do but mop up). One could assume that they might have needed time to recover from their confrontation with the Necromancer while Gandalf 'got better'. Besides, the White Council probably have other responsibilities, especially with a returned Dark Lord on the loose.
From the makers of 'The Lord of the Rings' comes the sequel to Peter Jackson's Hobbit Trilogy - 'The War in the North, Part I : The Sword in the Tomb'.

Galadriel and Elrond have both their own realms and people they need to think about and start preparing for Sauron's return. As for Saruman, he would not be interested in helping. He wants to search for the One Ring now that Sauron is out of the way for a while.

Gandalf goes to check on the dwarves and see how things are going, but, in the book at least, Erebor is far away and the orc attack is a surprise attack that no one was expecting, so the other White Council members would have no reason to think they needed to go to Erebor. Of course, in the movie the orc attack is connected to Dol Guldur, so it will be interesting to see if Elrond and Galadriel even mention the idea of going to Erebor. It could be that they aren't sure how many fronts the enemy is planning to attack on, and they rush home to secure their own kingdoms.
