***We are no longer requiring or enforcing spoiler warnings as of Dec 17*** Release Season is upon us! From now until the theatrical release of the film, there will be spoiler talk galore on these boards, in both rumors and reviews. Here's what you need to know to navigate this board in the coming weeks. This is not a Spoiler-Free Zone. If you want to avoid all spoilers before seeing the movie your best bet is to avoid TORN, or at least the front page and the Hobbit forum, until you see the movie. We will try to mark major spoilers as best we can but we make no guarantees. You read at your own risk. You have been warned. Until Dec 10, we require that you keep spoilers out of your subject lines and put a warning in your subject line if there are spoilers in your post. The Mods will enforce this. This includes spoilery reports from the world premiere and film reviews with spoilers. As a courtesy to others, we request that you continue to warn for spoilers until Dec 17 (US release date). Between Dec 10 and 17, however, the likelihood of accidentally encountering major spoilers on these boards will be very very high; people often forget spoiler warnings in their excitement, newbies won't know they need to, and the Mods won't be able to dam the tide if we wanted to. After Dec 17 no spoiler warnings are needed and the Mods will not add any. Our apologies to those who aren't getting the film until after that date, but once it's released in the US there will be spoilers in nearly every thread, rendering warnings useless. How to hide spoilery text in your posts If you want to talk spoilers in your post without accidentally spoiling anyone reading through, you can use this handy trick to make your spoiler text invisible to all but the Wise. This also makes it easy to mix speculation and spoilers and still let people choose how spoiled to be. Using Advanced Editor - Select your spoiler text. Click the "Font Color" button in the toolbar, enter #EEEEEE into the box at the bottom of the popup. Click "ok" Using Basic Editor - Use the following markup code, replacing < > with [ ] <#EEEEEE>spoiler text here Your spoiler text will now be the same as the post background color, and therefore invisible. People can highlight to read, but no accidental surprises! Example: (begin spoiler) Sauron has only nine fingers! (end spoiler) The Mods thank you for your cooperation!
