I feel you man... So much anticipation, for me, these kinds of films almost don't even feel real the first viewing, as you imagine so many times what you will see and feel on screen, and so forth, the first screening of something like this for me, is almost kind of surreal. The same way I imagine I will feel seeing Ep7 next December...can't wait- Sensory overload...have to remind yourself to let go and be in the moment and let the film take you away, and not try to concentrate too much, because then the magical flow of the thing can't overtake you and put you into that lovely rhythm of immersion and other-worldliness. There is nothing better than being utterly transported. I remember the first time I saw Fellowship very clearly. I was extremely excited and thought I knew what to expect, but the digital grading, tone, score and direction absolutely blew me away like nothing since childhood. When I first saw the last alliance marching across the plains of Gorgoroth, and that first Orc with the yellow contacts hissed in frame, I felt like I was watching something biblical, with the score and all cylinders firing at once. I met PJ at an Oscar party and I told him I almost had an out of body experience watching his movie, he laughed and said, he hadn't heard that one before...lol Can't wait to do it again Dec 16 at 7pm!
I will show you revenge...

I agree with you and I hope that The Silmarillion gets the big-budget TV mini-series treatment it so deserves. I think it will be sooner or later.
