So,Runtime info from our local IMAX Can't Post

Went to see Interstellar (again, great movie isnt it?!?)

The owner told me that they got a final confirmation that BotfA will run: 161minutes

-148min movie without trailers and commercials
-13min credits

Just thought to share it, he was right with AUJ and DoS as well.

2 hours 28 minutes [In reply to] Can't Post

That's not bad at all- looking forward to the EE, but that's a relief over the rumored 2:15!

Does anyone have the figures for how long DOS and AUJ were (and how long the credits were) like you broke down here?

And is your figure 148 total but 13 of them are credits, or that it's 148 minutes plus 13 more minutes of credits?

Thanks for clearing that up!

2.41hrs in total is longer than the 2.20hrs(? can't remember the exact number) PJ said. Good enough for me.Smile

Shortest of the three [In reply to] Can't Post

It seems strange the film would be as long as DOS. Remember that PJ said this would be the shortest one and that he was trying to trim it down to 140 minutes!
Sory, but I think 2:22 is the correct runtime. The film opens 10th of December in Sweden. It seems strange that they would present an incorrect runtime at this late stage!

It's a big difference between the two listings.

Obviously I want it to be 148 minutes without credits.

I read properly. My reference says 142 min TOTAL

161-142 = 19

Why would you list a runtime without credits anyway? The credits are part of a movie.

will you follow me,one last time? [In reply to] Can't Post

The owner told me exactly THIS:

The movie, from the very first to very last shot, runs 148minutes.

These 148minutes DO NOT INCLUDE the trailers/commercials before AND the credits(which are about 13minutes)after.

Now i'm silent.

Basic math [In reply to] Can't Post

Ok. So that means a 161 min movie with credits. My source says the film is 142 min with credits.

The only interesting subject left to discuss is who may ber right. Your source or mine? Or none of us?

160+ [In reply to] Can't Post

seems right. Most cinemas are listing the film with around 160 minutes.

Could be a placeholder. But 142 pure movie would be great!

Well, if for example, the 161 time was real then it it could still be the shortest (despite being the same length as DOS) due to the Credits running longer (Presumably illustrated) being the thing that bumps the time back up!

But all that said at this moment I' m less incline to believe the 161 time - mainly due to the fact that a breakdown of 148 + 13 is explicitly given from the source.

I just have doubts that that the cinemas would have that level of detail at this moment in time. A Rough Runtime for scheduling and arranging showings - yes. A Knowledge of how long the credits are a month out from showings and when they have not yet received the film - No. God knows if the studio has received the final version yet!

I find it hard to believe... [In reply to] Can't Post

That PJ could cut the 2 hr 30 min rough cut he had down 20 minutes. That's a lot to cut out. I could see maybe cutting 10 minutes, to get the movie to 2 hr 20 min. But getting it down to just 2 hr 10 min seems like too much. Unless he's cutting important things just so people won't complain about the length.

rough cut [In reply to] Can't Post

I think the rough cut includes the credits so then 2:22 makes perfect sense.
