Hobbit Trilogy marathon in U.S. cinemas Monday 12/15 Can't Post

Want to see The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies a little sooner than December 17th? Movie theaters around the U.S. will be hosting a Hobbit Trilogy marathon on Monday, December 15th. The trilogy is to be shown in IMAX, and tickets go on sale Friday, November 14th. Tentative showtimes are: An Unexpected Journey at 1:00 p.m., The Desolation of Smaug at 4:05 p.m., and The Battle of the Five Armies at 7:00 p.m.. Check with your local theater to find out if they'll be participating.

Ooh, yes! [In reply to] Can't Post

Very cool. I still think it'll be around one more week until Cinemark puts up the announcement on their website. Once Mockingjay hits the world, the chain can look further ahead.

Or, they will announce it on the 14th when tickets go on sale. Angelic

my guess is... [In reply to] Can't Post

that this will running in your LIE-MAX theaters. Hobbit 3 will be digital only---no imax film prints.

Hopefully its HFR as well.

Just booked it! [In reply to] Can't Post

Would have forgotten, had the new posts in this thread not reminded me.

Great, two days early, and not that expensive, considering what we're getting.

Looks like Cineplex theaters will be participating... [In reply to] Can't Post

both in regular 2D and IMAX 3D versions. You can't purchase tickets yet, but it's only a matter of time (I'm guessing Wednesday at the latest). Now I don't know which showing I'll be going to, but it would be kind of cool to see the Hobbit trilogy in IMAX 3D, since I've never seen any of them in this format (only HFR 3D, RealD 3D and the regular 2D, but unfortunately, I never saw DoS in 2D in theaters, only on DVD).Smile
