Saruman's obviously... [In reply to] Can't Post

See my footer Wink

But Kili's line was quite impressive. I didn't expect him to be yelling at Thorin, nor did I expect Turner to deliver so good. I haven't been impressed with the way Kili has been portrayed, but this was excellent. If this is what to expect out Kili in this final movie, I might actually be sad when he dies.

Types of quotes (reply to OP) [In reply to] Can't Post

Just as a fun exercise, I broke the quotes down into the functions they serve for the trailer. It's just an arbitrary thing but makes it obvious why lines like "master plan" and "bats" won't get as many likes.

By the way, my favorite is Thranduil's "forgive me" to Gandalf. That line carries so much intensity and meaning...it just popped out to me when I watched the trailer for the first time.

I will not hide while others fight our battles FOR US!!! (Kili)

Character Traits

I came to reclaim something of mine. (Thranduil)

Leave Sauron to me. (Saruman)

Everything I did, I did for them. (Thorn)

These bats are bred for one purpose...for war. (Legolas)

Philosophical

Dwalin's line [In reply to] Can't Post

Bilbo is right. You cannot see what you have become.... almost made me cry - and without context even! Can't imagine how many tissues I'm gonna need while watching the actual movie!

That was a good one [In reply to] Can't Post

I almost teared up as well - excellent work Graham McTavish! Although it was not my favorite line, it was up there!

1. Leave Sauron to me.
2. You started this. You will forgive me...if I finish it.
3. Bilbo is right. You cannot see what you have become.

I love Dwalin's line, too - he was the LAST dwarf I expected to say anything. But Thorin's new line REALLY puts that in perspective! Oh, yes tears will be falling....

Leave Sauron to me! [In reply to] Can't Post

A very cliched line, made 10 times cooler by Sir Christopher Lee, I'm both intrigued and concerned about the implications though!

If I could vote twice, [In reply to] Can't Post

I'd vote Thranduil's line about "finish this" - good one. But I voted for Dwalin, because that was the last thing I expected. Kili objected in the book, so that was expected (Epic, but expected). Everything else is good, but those two stand out the most for me.
