How about some more Movie Trivia questions?
|

Hi everyone! It's Monday and that means another round of LOTR Trivia! The rules are simple. I ask six questions from the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game. The questions are divided into six categories: Things, Evil Characters, Good Characters, Places & History, Warfare, and Making Movies. I will post the answers for the questions on Friday for you to score yourselves. Until then, answer them, discuss them, joke about them, and feel free to award plenty of Invisible Extra Credit to those who deserve it. For the record, the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game has some questions that are just too easy, some questions that are awkwardly phrased, and some questions that seem to be flat wrong. I am combining questions from a couple of different cards to get these sets and to try and weed out some of the odd ones. Also, I wouldn't put too much thought into worrying about whether or not the questions fit their categories. Here are this week's questions: What Fellowship member claims to have the eyes of a hawk? How many days from Rivendell is Frodo when he is stabbed by the Ringwraith? What object does Galadriel tell Frodo her heart greatly desires? Who sits in the grandest chair at the Council in Rivendell? What weapon does Theoden wield in the Warg-Rider attack on the way to Helm's Deep? What year was the extended version of The Two Towers released on DVD?

1. Boromir - it's a gruesome hobby of his. (Gimli.) 2. Nine and three-quarters. (Three?) 3. A ticket back to Valinor - living in the woods is hell on her hair. (The One Ring.) 4. Pippin, when Elrond wasn't looking. (Book - Arwen; movie - Elrond.) 5. Febreeze - it can knock out the strongest canine smell. (Sword.) 6. The Year of the Uruk-hai. (2003.)
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. Dwarves these days.... 1. The one who breathes so loudly he could be shot in the dark. 2. 5 days -- is movie Gimli shorter than book Gimli too? 3. The object that cannot be destroyed, answer to the first question, by any craft that we here possess. 4.Not Gimli, Mr. Smith. 5. The thing that would cause his hand to remember its strength... and my axe. 6. Does it rhyme with Gimli (2003)?

I don't know if the answers have already been posted so I'm trying not to look :). What Fellowship member claims to have the eyes of a hawk? Gimli! How many days from Rivendell is Frodo when he is stabbed by the Ringwraith? Ooh. Um. Two or three??? Arrggh! Do I get partial credit if I say two and a half ?? What object does Galadriel tell Frodo her heart greatly desires? Oh I could be so naughty with that question . I shall not though , I shall say: The Ring. Who sits in the grandest chair at the Council in Rivendell? I'd think this is Elrond. But now I'm wondering if that's a trick question! What weapon does Theoden wield in the Warg-Rider attack on the way to Helm's Deep? A.... sword? Are we going for the name of the sword? tsk on me, if the weapon has a name, I do not know what it is . What year was the extended version of The Two Towers released on DVD? I don't know .... I don't think I've gotten a single one of these 'making of' questions yet! Thanks, A-d !

What Fellowship member claims to have the eyes of a hawk? Gimli, son of Gloin (Oh, dear...that poor bird!) How many days from Rivendell is Frodo when he is stabbed by the Ringwraith? 3 days What object does Galadriel tell Frodo her heart greatly desires? The One Ring (.net?) Who sits in the grandest chair at the Council in Rivendell? Elrond (or Santa) What weapon does Theoden wield in the Warg-Rider attack on the way to Helm's Deep? A spear? What year was the extended version of The Two Towers released on DVD? 2003
"When you think of the great Battle of Pelennor, do not forget the Battle of Dale. Think of what might have been. Dragon-fire and savage swords in Eriador! There might be no Queen in Gondor. We might now only hope to return from the victory here to ruin and ash. But that has been averted -- because I met Thorin Oakenshield one evening on the edge of spring not far from Bree. A chance-meeting, as we say in Middle-earth." - Gandalf

1- Gimli. We can only assume hawks didn't see as good in Middle Earth. 2- Three? I'm pretty sure it's Sam that says it, but I'm not sure on the number. 3- The One Ring. 4- Elrond? Whoever it was, I'm sure it was for ergonomic reasons. 5- Sword, but that seems too easy. Still that's what I see in my mind's eye. 6- 2003. FotR came out in December 2001, with it's EE in 2002. Subsequent releases came in one year intervals.
