It was this guy (gal? maybe) from the Rohirrim charge scene:
Sure, Eomer gets the attention with his fancy spear work, but to me this became an EIGWIT moment - "Eomer is grea- who is *that*??"  . Thrilling, graceful, amazing. I look for this "extra" every time now.
It took many viewings to spot this though. So far I haven't yet watched TH films enough to spot a similar standout, but eventually I'm sure there will be a similar Aha! find.
Three cheers for all the talented extras in these films  !

I always love reading Bombadil's posts, he brightens up the boards with his unique style, and has made some great observations and contributions in the past - even if they sometimes require a couple of rereads.
On-topic- if I had the money I wouldn't mind paying someone to follow me around with a hairdryer, so I can look as majestic as Thorin all day long

And -
the plane spotters with walkie talkies.
the guy who sat in the cold all day putting out and re-lighting campfires for every take.
the folks who regularly threw cosmetic dirt on shoes and the bottoms of skirts. (They loved that, you bet! )
the van drivers between parking lots/wardrobe/studio - and the guards who watched the cars in parking lots all day and evening.
the angels who brought around water and juice and snacks and hot/cold water bottles and blankets or small fans to keep actors and extras comfortable on set.
the fabulous cooks who prepared varied, delicious and healthy meals - and the great guys who remembered if you liked flat whites or regular coffee. (really! )
the wardrobe wizards who made sure there were clean shirts and socks and plastic bags to put inside shoes if rain was expected - and paper to put in wet shoes so they'd be dry for the next day.
the folks who kept sprinkling more snow or touching up paint on the sets between takes.
It goes on and on and everybody does their big and small parts and the movies get made and the kids get their hamburgers and the lawns get mowed.
And we get Middle-earth on screen.
Thanks for the reminder of how the magic happens, Bomby.
