Thanks for all the links, AshNazg! The Laketown Rehearsal is currently my favorite for obvious reasons.

Not a fan. Most of it is recycled footage.

These new scenes seem pretty cool, and are more in line with what i love about the Middle-earth films. I'm not the biggest fan of all the added stuff in DoS (to say the least), but if there's more cool stuff like this in there, well, every little bit helps.

14 days is a joke IMO. By the time it's out on Blu-ray all the fun discussions will already have died down. It's fine releasing it earlier as a download but two weeks is just too big of a gap for me and I can't wait that long.

Cool to finally see a glimpse of Anthony Sher as Thrain, I've been curious about his performance and what would be going on with the character. The High Fells scene looked good too, nice to see the rangers of the North. It's one of those small moments that hints at more of middle earth we wouldn't always get the chance to see.

why they didnt manage to get the first shot of Gandalf entering Dol Guldur (blue lighted)which seems to be already from the first AUJ Trailer and the following right ? What comes afterwards, has a totally different colour grading looks like lazy editing...

This got the old LotR feel back for me with the High Fells flashback and Galadriel's narrative.

Is no one else completely and utterly disgusted at the Ram Bollocks scene! How entirely rude and childish! It's simply the way it was done that disgusts me. The "Bollocks, sire!" were made such a focus. It's awful really, and I can't see how there wouldn't be others who share my feelings.
"I've found it is the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk, that keeps the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps it is because I’m afraid, and he gives me courage.” - Gandalf the Grey. "Do not be afraid Mithrandir, if ever you should need my help, I will come." - Lady Galadriel.

Why is it rude? We might be a little squeamish about it these days but people have been eating testicles for centuries. I think that squeamishness is played upon for a chuckle and to suggest the Master is a rum sort, so in that sense a twinge of disgust is no doubt intentional but I'm not sure I'm following where the depth of feeling is coming from, if I'm honest.

Yeah, it was over the top and gross, as it was meant to be. PJ just has a sense of humor that I'm not always suited to. But I'm surprised Fran or Philippa didn't veto it the way they vetoed PJ's awful cameo.
