and you know not the time, or place. It is quiet there but then you hear movement and see a figure cloaked and mysterious, and you try in earnest to understand what is occurring. Take the jump and tell what you understand all of it to be.
" 'Fair lady Goldberry!' said Frodo at last, feeling his heart move with a joy that he did not understand. He stood as he had at times stood enchanted by fair elven-voices; but the spell that was now laid upon him was different: less keen and lofty was the delight, but deeper and nearer to mortal heart; marvellous and yet not strange." Chapter VII: In the House of Tom Bombadil; FOTR's Faerie contains many things besides elves and fays and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants or dragons; it holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all things that are one in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted." — J.R.R. Tolkien

My first thought was of Aragorn, entering Lorien to rest and recuperate after some long wanderings. I would expect some of the elf guards to appear at any moment and greet him, and perhaps escort him to the Lord and Lady.

I would be very leery of this character (depending partly on location). He seems rather malevolent to me with his almost raggedy manner of dress. It seems a sunny day yet he has his hood up. Could even be a Nazgul afoot? *takes the dark side*

But push <B> to crouch. But seriously folks... I saw Aragorn right away but the mistiness of the forest reminded me more of Fangorn. Which one of those "trees" is really an Ent, watching silently as the ranger passes by...

...describes 98% of Middle Earthians........... I'd lurk behind one of those friendly trees and try to figure out who this was and what their motivations were. Also, I'd check the reaction of my dog. And the birdies. And the squirrels. And I'd be carrying a big stick. And pepper spray. Of course, he might be Gandalf... who could be mistaken for Saruman. I think I'd want to be better armed... I admire characters in tales of adventure, who are not warriors, who don't have massive martial arts skill, characters like the Hobbits, or like Clara in Dr Who (who walks into the most outrageously dangerous situations in a miniskirt, armed only with her wits)... I just think I'd need better protection.
