Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Can't wait to hear it.
"The danger with any movie that does as well as this one does is that the amount of money it's making and the number of awards that it's got becomes almost more important than the movie itself in people's minds. I look at that as, in a sense, being very much like the Ring, and its effect on people. You know, you can kind of forget what we were doing, if you get too wrapped up in that." - Viggo Mortensen

has got me reduced to tears. When the song starts to play I will not be able to contain myself. I wonder if this is the end credits song and whether Billy Boyd will be the singer...

Hopefully Billy will sing it and Howard Shore will compose the music ! I can see this song being more in line the the lord of the rings credit songs

Why bring him in to help write the song if he's not the singer? Between that and the use of "Edge of Night" in the teaser trailer, I would be SHOCKED if he's not the singer.

https://twitter.com/...s/523617934636507137 Sadly not "The Road Goes Ever On". And if Billy sings it no female singer. Billy sings great. I had the opportunity to hear him Live at Ring*Con 2005. Great voice with much passion. But my favorite would have been another title.

It really is, in a meta way, going to be our Last Goodbye to Jackson's cinematic adaptation of Middle-earth - exhilarating works of art that have entertained and inspired us for the past 13 years. This is essentially the swan song of this particular vision of Middle Earth, and I'm really confident Boyd would be able to tug at our heart strings. One last time.

and as you say, with hindsight, we might have seen it coming with the re-use of Edge of Night for the trailer!

Good find. Probably a topic for another thread, but should we be concerned/disappointed that Bloom is among the Best Supporting Actor candidates and Connolly, Weaving, Nesbitt and Stott aren't? It might suggest at least that they aren't at all that prominent. I mean, they even submitted Blanchett for AUJ, which might suggest her role is even smaller here.

Orlando Bloom over Ken Stott or, indeed, any of the dwarves? Evangeline Lilly over Cate Blanchett? Even if Blanchett had only a 10th of Lilly's screentime she'd be a better Oscar bait. I certainly hope Galadriel will have more screentime than in AUJ (and Tauriel less than in DOS), but it doesn't seem very promising for either case.
