With all the gathering of Elven eyes Pretty!
I thought Legolas' eyes were pretty bright in the LotR at times as well

But in DOS they seem to have lighten them a few shades more
HTR-alert clicky's due to massive size
And I agree with you that Thranduil's (light) shade suits him so well, does not look unnatural at all.
Light eyed Leggy looks far more dangerous and scary to me. I mean, wouldn't you be scared if you saw him looking at you like this:
So in that regard I think TH team did a good job portraying more of his 'unstable ' Woodelf-side.

And I can't believe I've found the link, but here are the closeups that make me think so: Lee Pace Daily.
They're actually a tiny bit blue, a tiny bit green, a tiny bit brown, a tiny bit grey, and the amount would change with how the light hits them and how much the light (or some other substance ) is dilating them. Sometimes that is called "green," but I see it called "hazel" more often. (Or maybe I'm biased, Mr Vanima has hazel eyes. ) And my guess is, it's much easier to disguise them "blue" with contacts than it is with Orlando's "brown" ones. (But I really have no idea.)

It looks like we're getting Thranduil's character poster tomorrow. Excited?  I know I am!
What do you think? Will they manage to make it as awesome as this pic, capture the full maximum fab exposure of Thranduil? Or are you dreading it will be a let-down, like Leggy's?
Probably more dark and gritty, if the previous posters are an indicator.
Either way, only 19 more hours until we find out

This popped up for Shortcut, (because I'm not sure the image will show up, even though I can see it in the preview - it's the 2000/2013 pic towards the bottom of the page) but this is Rowan Greene's quote (and pics?):
Because when you see him in the vlogs or random behind the scenes pictures, he looks more like the LoTR Legolas/Orlando--he looks normal. So what was with all the eyeliner and CGI distortions?
I miss the LoTR Legolas. 
But that 2013 image above (and the image in the post I'm responding to) looks very similar to the one in your very next post, and that one doesn't look uncanny valley to me. So I guess it's kinda like that definition of Science Fiction: Science Fiction is what I'm pointing at when I say "science fiction." My Plastic/UncannyValley must be a few clicks out of synch with yours - but we both know it's a problem that could easily be fixed with just a little less CGI-ing of the facial features.
(Looking at that "image in the very next post" again, I'm thinking the difference in coloring and lighting might have pulled it out of Uncanny Valley for me. And that's still probably down to CGI...)

Thnx! I also like this trailer music we get to hear in the official DOS UK trailer.
Everytime I hear this music, it reminds me of Thranduil's grand intro in the trailer "I offer you my help" "How do we know he won't betray us?" *close up of Thranduil's beautiful, ageless and mysterious eyes* "We don't."
I just forget the fact these last two remarks are about Bard and not Thranduil. The trailer makes it seem they are about him though so I just go with that.

Which, with the Elvenking, translates as Hot and Sexy.  But, yeah, it would make sense for it to line up with the AT WAR look the others seem to have.
(So who am I kidding, it'll be something out of left field, probably harkening back to LotR, somehow.)
