Too early [In reply to] Can't Post

I doubt Jackson even has a final edit yet. He'll probably be tinkering up until late November!

I don't think so... [In reply to] Can't Post

While I have doubts about this specific number. The film should be nearly locked by now. 1) Since they've had so long to focus on the editing, and 2) since they've already begun recording music and finalizing VFX.

On top of that, the Hobbit Fan Contest includes a screening of the film in early, early November. I have a feeling they should be pretty much wrapped up with a bulk of the VFX in the coming weeks.

Remember though [In reply to] Can't Post

They scored the extended scenes of DoS back in the initial block last autumn, so it's realistic to think that the initial cut Shore scored as longer, and that should be the same story here.

Wasn't BOFA supposed to be the shortest of the three films? [In reply to] Can't Post

Or am I making this up?

No you're not - I'm sure that was said by someone - Philippa Boyens.... [In reply to] Can't Post

.. maybe, or Peter Jackson himself. But then, there's short and there's Peter Jackson's storytelling. If this does turn out to be right, then I suppose when it came to it there was just so much they wanted to put in....

Jackson himself stated in the most recent EMPIRE article.... [In reply to] Can't Post

that he was aiming for 2 and a half hours for TBotFA...and that he would ideally prefer it to be less - 2:20 but he probably wouldn't be able to do it!

I did some googling... [In reply to] Can't Post

... and came upon BOFA's LOTR Wiki page, where it says 156 minutes. No sources listed, though. Thought I'd bring it up, just for comparison.

As long as it doesn't drag [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm fine, I'm sure the EE of BOTFA will e the longest of the entire trilogy.
