it saddens us, the family, to let you know our beloved father, brother, uncle has died Known to you appearently as Rickster, he had one more wish after a long and wonderful life He hoped to see the Battle of the Five Armies. But he did not. We had the impression he liked this forum and the warm friendship he found here during his last months when health was deteriating and going out more and more difficult. Because of that we thank you all. Jeanette Beekman

Thank you for letting us know. I hope Rickster found joy in anticipating the movie along with us, though he didn't live long enough to see it. My sincere sympathy to your family, with the hope and prayer that where he is now is even better than anything he could experience on a movie screen. --RD

I wished he would have seen the end of the tale come alive and stayed with you for a little longer. I am sure though he saw that ending in his heart and mind the same way as he will stay with you all in your hearts and minds. I wish you a lot of strength for this time of sorrow.
"I am afraid it is only too likely to be true what you say about the critics and the public. I am dreading the publication for it will be impossible not to mind what is said. I have exposed my heart to be shot at." J.R.R. Tolkien We all have our hearts and minds one way or another invested in these books and movies. So we all mind and should show the necessary respect.

Such a shame that he didnt get to the end of the journey. R.I.P
I believe that Azog and Bolg are possibly the only two orcs who may be an exception to the typical evil nature of an orc. Azog had brought up his son, well enough that he actually acknowledges him as his own son. That is a first for any orc. And Bolg sets out to march upon Erebor in vengeance of his fathers death. How many orcs will Try and avenge another dead orc? Most will just forget about the dead one. This gives me hope that Orcs, have some traits of good in them, even if it is small aspects.
