*FACEPALM* My English teachers would be so appalled if they knew. 
Fan of both books and movies; I am a lurker by nature though it seems I have severely misnamed myself... for the moment.

Got me into quite a stew before I had mastered it. 
I try to remember it this way:
Lie: To rest or recline. I am going to lie down.
Lay: To put or place something. Lay that blanket down.
Stuff like this is why I love Feedback! At the most unexpected times, amidst a flurry of Tolkien-talk, you can start in about Grammar and Composition. 
P.S. I won't tell your English teacher. Now...what exactly was his/her name? Just so that I don't accidental tell the wrong person...

my problem was my brain KNEW the right one. But somehow, in between the thought travelling out from the grey matter and the commitment to virtual paper, the signal got garbled.
