WORD GAME II “Frustration!” Can't Post

Between each hyphen I have a word or words which hint at a word or syllable of a Tolkien person, place, or thing.
To add to your frustration I occasionally have omitted an article or conjunction, or occasionally the Tolkien word or syllable may be a sounds-like, e.g. “wait”/”weight”.
Please put your answer in the body of your reply, not the subject line so that others may play.
How many Tolkien word(s) can you get? Good luck.

1. -take out a loan - I can see me-
2. -annoyed – avenues – collapsed – royalty-
3. -Gibson – apple’s midmost-
4. -waste – air pollution-
5. -baloney! – howler – carried off-

6. -slow of wit – brook – Roy Roger’s wife-
7. -colonades – potentates-
8. -crusade – climb onto – fate-
9. -belt fastener – entomb – mythical being-
10. -has bought the farm – morasses-

11. -“That’s cool dude.” – appalled-
12. -shell out – watering hole – dashed-
13. -explosion – fox coat – protracted-
14. -illustrious – hoof-
15. -finished – torment-

Nice work Smile

14. is not right.
12. Dol Baran is correct (did you have trouble with “watering hole”? It’s slang for bar or tavern, place to drink.

So you’ve got ‘em all but 14 Cool. YAY on you!!

ps I'm glad I get a kick out of making these up (and you solving) as it appears most TORnAdoes must find them too difficult (or maybe just too dull?) Crazy
