Based on the teaser trailer alone, it looks like it will be pretty bright outside during Botfa, so even if they did use the flash pots, the audience wouldn't be able to see the flash, and neither would the bad guys. It just wouldn't have as much of a visual effect as they did deep withing the dark depths of Erebor.
I'm not sure I'd want them to use the flash pots again anyway. IMO, Botfa needs to mostly be hand-to-hand combat to create the kind of gritty, personal, dramatic intensity that PJ's been teasing.

Maybe during the "Stand OFF"? bom
That's perhaps a bit too far out in left field, Bomby. If the grenades/bombs get used at all it will probably be against the Orcs, not like a Power Rangers special effect.

Just trying to figure out HOW ORI could be a Real Hero with his SlingSHOT? bom
Thorin & Co. could have set up a position for Ori to launch the fire-pots at the top of the wall that they constructed at the Front Gate. The Valar know that they could use some artillary. He could use his slingshot for personal defense against any Orc who tries to overrun his position.
