What do you get when you mix a Thranduil cosplayer and a Lady Gaga song? This. I'm not sure if I'm ROTFL or *eye twitch* or both, but *snert* that is quite something!

Makes him all the more fitting to play the one and only ElvenKing who is just so tall and slender of frame yet muscular at the same time. Yeah you know what I'm talking about Standing regal as always And I would like to note that Thranduil is all real here (unlike his *cough* angry counterpart *cough*)

...who is just that cool. The lighting with Thranduil looks like the photo was actually taken on that GoT throne. He looks like he belongs there, ruling all of Westeros. But maybe he shouldn't and just stick with ruling Mirkwood. Seeing as being King of Westeros normally does not provide said King with an extremely long lifespan. And Ronan, well he rules Westeros, the Universe and all the other places too

I'm really curious who the Elf in the 3rd photo is. You see him blowing the horn when Mirkwood get attacked, and I've seen hin running around with Legolas on the BTS footage. Apparently he has some role to play in TH. Btw Elrond looks stunning in his armour, just not as stunning as Pretty! of course. But that's not even a competition. *Squee* Creepy Ronan. Squeeing may not be the proper way to respond to a homicidal maniac, but can't help myself. It's that voice I tell you. Liking the tabname of the first site. Instant crush indeed

He has silver hair in the movie, SILVER hair (instead of Golden). This pic proves my point yet again You know me, the more gif's the better. Gah, still such a long time before we can behold the magnificence of Thranduil's fighting. Hopefully we'll see a little bit more in the upcoming trailer, before BoFA comes out. But that still takes waaaaaay too long *Snigger* if only...
GotG I just watched the Avengers on tv and for those who have seen the film, it is based on the same universe as GotG (being both Marvel's). I'm not a real Marvel galaxy geek, so I really know very little about it. But aren't those 'aliens' who invade Earth in the final assault, the same aliens who fight alongside Ronan? Or at least the leader of the bunch, who speaks with Loki at the beginning of the movie, is the one creature that gets his neck snapped by Ronan? I mean this ugly fellow (left) http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/...3d/ThanosThrone2.jpg Btw, nice eyes http://31.media.tumblr.com/...FY1s5jf2zo1_1280.jpg Looking very good in a tax. But maybe he shouldn't and just stick with ruling Mirkwood. Seeing as being King of Westeros normally does not provide said King with an extremely long lifespan. The effort is really there, ain't it? But LoL... I think The Elvenking much prefers the organic and naturalistic majesty of his own throne anyway. Which I think is much more magnificent than any rusty old iron throne Other lands are not his concern so I'm sure he'd just lounge majestically on his real throne in Mirkwood. (wallpaper size clicky)
And Ronan, well he rules Westeros, the Universe and all the other places too Hee... you know, I think Ronan might find the iron throne distastefully ostentatious at that

Apparently he has some role to play in TH. Btw Elrond looks stunning in his armour, just not as stunning as Pretty! of course. But that's not even a competition. hmmm... good catch there. Now I wonder if he might be the messenger who tells Thorin to eat his gold and then get get shot at for all his trouble. You know:
'Ere many hours were past, the banner-bearers returned, and trumpeters stood forth and blew a blast:
"In the name of Esgaroth and the Forest," one cried, "... yada yada ... but if Thorin would have the friendship and honour of the lands about, as his sires had of old, then he will also give somewhat of his own for the comfort of the men of the Lake."
Then Thorin seized a bow of horn and shot an arrow at the speaker....
"Since that is your answer," he called in return, "I declare the Mountain besieged. You shall not depart from it, until you call on your side for a truce and a parley. We will bear no weapon against you, but we leave you to your gold. You may eat that, if you will!"
With that the messengers departed swiftly....' Had a bit of a discussion a while back, with no conclusion.
*Squee* Creepy Ronan. Squeeing may not be the proper way to respond to a homicidal maniac, but can't help myself. It's that voice I tell you. i know what you mean.

This pic proves my point yet again Platinum or ashy, but blond, according to LP himself: "‘When I am in make-up,’ he says, ‘with icy-grey contact lenses, a super-ashy blond wig that is rather rough and feral, and with my eyebrows lifted up to give me a nasty, numb Elvish face – I look in the mirror and see someone totally different to boring old me!’" (source)

Was mentioned they're the same footpads somewhere. The one who got done in at the beginning? If you mean the one Ronan executed with his hammer, I think that's a different one, should be them Xandarians(sp?), the race Ronan wants vengence on.

As long as guests are respective and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. It's unexpected "guests" who are ungracious and emo-sensitive at everything that sully the great ambience at Rivendell. Hell-bent on wearing the welcome thin from the get-go. And yet, Elrond is ever gracious as host, even if it's just for old acquaintances' sake. And Gandalf owes him another one. Thranduil could care less to entertain emo dwarven disagreeability. Waste of time.

Makes him all the more fitting to play the one and only ElvenKing who is just so tall and slender of frame yet muscular at the same time. Yeah you know what I'm talking about I do! I've been curious since he seemed to tower so imposing over everyone in both BTS and live-action in-movie. So everywhere I looked it says LP is 6'3". There was also an officious chart/graph thing I've seen in some mag scan/book pullout, of the characters and Smaug in DOS and Thranduil was listed at 6'3" too, but of course. I checked out the official heights of the actors of the characters, and confirmed the characters were given the heights of their actors where they were not Dwarves or shorter, eg Gandalf was Ian McKellan's height. Though damn if I can locate that chart now. Anyway, so it seemed the world was given to think that's LP/Thranduil's height. Until now...
SHH: Lee Pace is playing completely against character, against type. He normally plays charming and likeable guys, so I would never expect him in a role like Ronan. Gunn: Yeah, Lee auditioned for Star-Lord, and he did a really great job. I liked him a lot. Honestly, I just liked him as a guy a lot. We instantly got along. It’s an incredibly important aspect to filmmaking for me is that I like the people I’m working with. I’m making this movie for two years, then I have to travel and do press junkets and all of that stuff with these people. I want to be around people who I really enjoy, whether it’s the production heads or the actors. Lee was the guy who I just instantly hit it off with, so when we started casting Ronan, which we needed to cast really quickly, I called him up and I said, “Dude, will you put yourself on tape real quick and send it to me because I think that you’re a physically imposing guy.” That was the other thing. Lee is 6’5";. One of the problems with casting the rest of these roles is that Chris Pratt was the first person we cast, and Chris Pratt is enormous, you know? An actor like Jason Momoa would come, and he’s smaller than Chris, basically. So it’s like we had to have some people around Chris who would make him look somewhat small. Actors like Dave Bautista and Lee Pace are hard to come by, anybody that’s bigger than Chris. Source Also: Now those pics of LP with Chris Pratt at events and even all these make sense... Sweet fanart rendition Graham Mctavish stated he himself was 6'3" here. And even this, yes this, makes sense. Just look at the shoulders of both. RA 6'2" to LP 6'5" just looks more logical than LP 6'3". LP is indeed born to play the Elvenking (look at that upper arm definition!) absolutely just Thranduil's towering height!!!
Fan of both books and movies; I am a lurker by nature though it seems I have severely misnamed myself... for the moment. Yes, you're right, they're not. I have very fond memories of the place (it hasn't been all that long since I was there myself). Enjoy your stay, because you'll be in Lorien sooner than you know.

hmmm... good catch there. It still remains a mystery who this Silvan Elf is. Hopefully his identity will be revealed in BoFA.
Now I wonder if he might be the messenger who tells Thorin to eat his gold and then get get shot at for all his trouble. You know: 'Ere many hours were past, the banner-bearers returned, and trumpeters stood forth and blew a blast: "In the name of Esgaroth and the Forest," one cried, "... yada yada ... but if Thorin would have the friendship and honour of the lands about, as his sires had of old, then he will also give somewhat of his own for the comfort of the men of the Lake."
With that the messengers departed swiftly....' Thank you so much for posting. You know you could be onto something, who knows what faith PJ has in story for mysery Elf? Oh I just found a Pretty! picture of LP, seeing as you (and maybe some other Lurkers) seem to like it (Clicky) http://static.squarespace.com/...illain-character.jpg And as for Ronan, that guy really creeps me out. He looks serious mental. That look... *shudders* Still, I was rooting for you Ronan. I want you to know that *hugs*

Well, he might be an unnamed Captain of the Guard?

Or one of the throne-room guards, a high-ranking ones? Just cos I'd imagine Thranduil would have his personal guard and at least one of them's gonna be close at hand no matter what. Even if they do change out of the ceremonial throne-room armour And since we're on armour... just
