How would you feel about a Lotr theme park? Can't Post

So would you be happy about this? And would your reaction determine whether you would still go for the sake of it?

I voted indifferent [In reply to] Can't Post

because it could be amazing if done right, and really awful if done wrong.

I voted yes [In reply to] Can't Post

but it would have to be the theme park to end all theme parks - a total Middle Earth immersion, and not sure if that's possible.

Sounds great! Those are great ideas! [In reply to] Can't Post

Personally I am with you on this one, I would like theme park if done in a way that is respectful of Tolkien's stories.

I'd just like [In reply to] Can't Post

to be able to visit Rivendell and Minas Tirith. I despair of anyone ever making a theme park for bookish folks someday, consisting mostly of libraries described in books.

"Boromir's Big Drop" would be pretty exciting, though.

Not if it is a 'regular' theme park... [In reply to] Can't Post

...with a Tolkien theme.

So no free falls, roller coasters, etc.

But, if it is a Tolkien-themed mixture of French theme park 'Puy du Fou' and Dutch theme park under construction 'Wildlands', then I would love to see it happen!

While it could be ruined by the wrong people designing it, I think it would be so awesome if we got an LOTR theme park!! I'm going ASAP once it opens!!! Cool

A bit rough for the Dwarves and Hobbits though. [In reply to] Can't Post

"You must be above this height for this ride" would preclude most of them...

Ah, true but thinking of the entrance fee [In reply to] Can't Post

we mustn’t forget this is a LOTR-themed park. Would not most or many of the rides be amenable to the hobbits & dwarves (especially if the Dwarves knew the secret entrance words – “Barak Khazad!”? thus gaining free entrance?) WinkWinkWink
