Great, but conflicting news [In reply to] Can't Post

That's fairly soon after the 2015 Oscars (Feb 22, 2015). Since it would be tough to go to L.A. in Feb *and* NYC in April, it could be a bittersweet decision. Frown

more tweets from Doug [In reply to] Can't Post

he communicates in the Burma Shave tradition these days.
To answer a few questions from yesterday, the 2015 NY performances of #ROTK will not be held at Radio City Music Hall …

Instead, they're booked at the David H. Koch Theater ( http://davidhkochtheater.com  ) … which should ultimately be a far better venue …

Acoustics and ambience should be ideal. … And movie buffs can visit the Ghostbusters fountain at the same time. ;)

I don't know yet if I'll be there … but I'm still working on a couple of appearances for this April and July, so 2015 is a long way away.

Still, it would be wonderful to give the first in-depth talk on the #Hobbit scores, which will have just wrapped up at that point. We'll see

I won't link to each tweet. See his account here: https://twitter.com/DougAdamsMusic

You lie! [In reply to] Can't Post

My wife's pet saying to celebratory happeningsLaugh.

Is the delay due to TH come to fruition? This happening is after all is said and done with Bilbo's adventures.

New York state threatre? No RCMH then.

I have to try to get this done Magpie:). Thanks for the heads-up.

" 'Fair lady Goldberry!' said Frodo at last, feeling his heart move with a joy that he did not understand. He stood as he had at times stood enchanted by fair elven-voices; but the spell that was now laid upon him was different: less keen and lofty was the delight, but deeper and nearer to mortal heart; marvellous and yet not strange."

Chapter VII: In the House of Tom Bombadil; FOTR's

Faerie contains many things besides elves and fays and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants or dragons; it holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all things that are one in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted."

any actual dates yet? [In reply to] Can't Post

Are there any actual dates mentioned yet? Or just this April tweet/teaser?

I surely do hope to attend. This is 13 months notice, so that's helpful.

There weren't any dates when I checked a few weeks ago [In reply to] Can't Post

and Doug hasn't announced anything yet so I would guess 'no'.

I'd follow him on Twitter or his blog if you want first notice of anything.

Finally! :D I knew they wouldn't rest [In reply to] Can't Post

until they could complete the Trilogy's concerts. RotK was the last one to complete the set. Good for them!

I saw the RotK live concert/film with the same orchestra/conductor/singer that performed the TT live concert in NYC in Grand Rapids Michigan a few years ago, and it was wonderful!

CANNOT WAIT! [In reply to] Can't Post

I was not able to attend the NYC Radio City concerts for FOTR and TTT, much to my disappointment, Frown but I fully intend on going this time. I went to the Wolf Trap performances in Virginia of ROTK in 2010 and FOTR last year and they were both spectacular, incredibly memorable, and moving. Seeing the film like that is truly unlike anything else.

I know I'm a few months late to the party [In reply to] Can't Post

But oh my goodness, that would be amazing! Like others I wasn't able to attend FotR and TTT at Radio City (much to my dismay) but I would absolutely love to see RotK. I'm am going to be stalking for information for months... Wink

Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind,
Long years numberless as the wings of trees!
The long years have passed like swift draughts
Of the sweet mead in lofty halls
Beyond the West, beneath the blue vaults of Varda
Wherein the stars tremble
In the voice of her song, holy and queenly...
