Books published whilst J. R. R. Tolkien lived here include:
'The Fellowship of the Ring' (1954), 'The Two Towers' (1954), and 'The Return of the King' (1955).
Wow! This beautiful, original, fireplace surround is a one off that can never be repeated.

First of all, it WOULD be cool to own that fireplace. But at the same time, I can't believe the current owners are trying to get $250,000 for it!! What a rip off! It's just a very simple tile fire surround. That seems so mercenary to me, in the worst possible way - 'I have something which was once in some way connected to Tolkien - let's make a fast buck by selling it to some gullible fool for a huge fortune...'
OK, I admit that if I had loads and loads of cash I might be that gullible fool - but still, wow at the audacity of the sellers.
