If you were forced to choose: "neither" or "both" is not an option. BEER!

Nothing like an ice cold beer after a long hot day of hard work, but wines definitely offer a far wider specturm of taste experiences.

There is such a huge variety of high quality beers out there. At least here in Sweden, beer has gained a status that is equal to that of wine - before, beer was sort of looked down upon, wine being "finer". Well now, after the micro brewery booms and all that, it has definately changed. Beer experts are popping up in TV tasting beers - before, only wine experts dominated this scene. I'll always love beer the most because all the different sorts are so vastly different, but I love pretty much 95% of all I've tasted. I do like (red) wine though.

I also love the variety of beer, from Chang (domestic) to Dos Equis to Harp Lager to Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock to Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock to Coors. But for me wine has the edge.

Sorry, I still have to choose "neither". Or "both". Neither tastes good to me; both make me ill.

I have yet to drink a single drop of beer and I doubt I ever will. By all I've been told it would probably tick boxes with me taste-wise, but I can't stand the smell.

in general, wine makes me a bit wheezy. I prefer beer. Especially Newcastle Brown Ale (which is the affordable readily available brand for the style I prefer). I love a good beer cheese sauce, as well. :-)

The variety of beers is endless. I guess you're thinking of lager beer (which is the most common)? I've tried so many kinds, very strong beer, beer that tastes like cider, beer that is quite unlike anything I've tried. I told my mother, who is an avid beer hater, to try taste a beer I'd bought which was a Belgian kind (not trappist beer, though) that didn't taste in any way near to like what in her mind is "beer" - and she loved it! So don't be so quick to dismiss it, is my advice

Since I'm forced to choose, I'll go with the one I drink most often. So beer it is Can someone pass me a bottle opener?

I can't stand the smell. The smell of coffee is incredibly off-putting to me, although I know that coffee drinkers love it.

I usually prefer white varieties and I've become quite fond of rosé, as well. Long Island's North Fork is something of a "wine country" area. Had many nice summer days going out there wine tasting when I lived on the Island

I'll choose meade! I have friends who brew their own, and they've spoiled me for anything less. I guess we can classify that as honey wine.

because i do enjoy it (and i'm not really a wine guy), but my favorite is to sip on some whiskey, or maybe some vodka.

I love the smell, better than the taste, and anyway it makes my heart go pitterpat so I can't drink it.

Prove that the "guys prefer beer and women prefer wine" cliche is not really that accurate.

Sorry, really don't like either. I don't drink coffee or tea either. I tend to go for fluffy drinks like daiquiris and bellinis, or a simple mixed drink like rum and coke or lemonade and vodka.

But I drink both probably equally and like them both. I just had a really nice citrus-laced beer that I really enjoyed with my crab cake. My daughter and I had lunch at The Horse You Came in on Saloon, the tavern where Edgar Allan Poe spent his last night, in Fells Point, Baltimore. They also do infused whiskeys. The apple version went down waaaay too easy.

...if I must choose. But both better represents my true preference. Beer is better to cool off on a hot day (though, I suppose wine can be used to make a nice sangria...)

I could drink Guinness all day everyday! Been getting into a lot of IPA's these days too. I love a good cabernet ,malbec or merlot but I drink beer much more often. Wine is more of a fall or winter thing for me. Rarely drink it in the summer whereas I drink beer all year round. Either way they both go well with my other "recreational hobby". Wine especially though. Nothin like curling up on a cold winter night with a bottle of wine and some Leaf.
