..The Lord of Silver Fountains

..The King Under the Mountain
.......Shall come into his own

..And the bells will ring in gladness

1) Does PJ ever put down the cup. Elrond looks great.

2) This is either DoS or before they decided to let his staff get destroyed.

3) So they do take off their armour outside Erebor.

4) Bilbo in Dale could be EE DoS... though he might also be there when he tries to ransom the Arkenstone.

It's interesting... [In reply to] Can't Post

...that first picture of Elrond with PJ is definitely from principal photography - see how slim PJ is there! And it's the same armour as Elrond is wearing in the other b-t-s shot with the prosthetic Bolg design, released last week:

Looks like they've barricaded (what might be?) the front entrance with various rubble (and judging by the rack of spears to the left, might this be inside of the Mountain?). I wonder if this might not be shortly after that shot from the trailer, of Kíli and Ori lifting that statue (we didn't see Ori's face in the trailer, but the knitted mittens struck me as a dead giveaway, and this new picture seems to confirm it), when they have finished assembling the makeshift wall? That might also explain the pieces of armor on the floor; It'd make sense to remove the heavier armor while pushing all this rubble around.

Number 3 is the western guardroom from DOS! [In reply to] Can't Post

It has the same rubble- even same placement- as the scene in the guardroom in DOS (just missing that stick jammed into the rubble).

Yet the bodies are gone- perhaps the dwarves are laying the corpses to rest while they linger in Erebor, either during the siege or before? Maybe taking some of the armor off of the dead bodies as part of the process (this would explain all the armor scattered about- why bury dwarves in perfectly good (and soon to be necessary) armor?)

That also explains why they all look so grim- especially those of the company who have only recently rejoined the others, as its their first time witnessing what Smaug did to Erebor's people.

I don't think it is. [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't see any similarities from the scene in DOS. The rubble, and the size and the shape of the room looks different. There are no steps either.

Thing I noticed in this one... [In reply to] Can't Post

If these people are the survivors of Laketown/ Bard's army (and they do all seem to be armed), it's interesting that the one on the right, closest to camera, is almost certainly a woman.

That caught my eye because in one of the other pictures we've seen recently, some of Thranduil's soldiers are also female. I thought that was smart because it puts Tauriel into context. She's no longer "Hey, look, *flags, bells and whistles*, we've got a fighting GIRL in the cast." (I know that some of the Rohirrim were women, but they wore beards; these didn't appear to be disguised in any way). So if we're also going to see the able-bodied survivors of Laketown joining the battle irrespective of gender as a matter of course, rather than the men fighting and the women screaming and running away, and if nothing is done to draw attention to this it just happens, I think that's rather good.

Just a thought.

Awesome thanks:) [In reply to] Can't Post

I'll be snagging the magazine when it comes out.

1. Elrond's armor looks cool. Similar to AUJ but a different color.

2. This is frond DOS. Appears it may be from Dol Guldur.

3. Love how they look in their armor. More awesome designs and looks by Wet Workshop.

4. I'm going to assume Bilbo is getting ready to leave Erebor with the Arkenstone.

Well yes... [In reply to] Can't Post

..it does make perfect sense when you think about it. But I still find it interesting. In all the talk there has been about the introduction of Tauriel, and Itaril before that, I never saw a single person say 'but wouldn't there have been female elves in the King's guard anyway?' Seems to me the assumption was that they would all be male - and I suspect the same assumption would have been made about Bard's army. So if they've chosen to put a few women in without making a great song and dance about it, I think that's really good. That's all....
