This is a pretty exciting matchup. Two very strong characters who will fight to the end for what they want. They both live unnaturally long lives, too. And live most of these lives alone. Roland is willing to sacrifice his friends to accomplish his goals, while Aragorn wants to keep his friends out of harm's way. In a fight, Roland has the obvious advantage of having a gun and being frightfully good aim. So if there's any kind of distance between the two, Roland would pick off Aragorn with no problem. And then he'd take Aragorn's sword, knives and other collected goodies because they might come in handy at some point on his quest. But for the heck of it, let's say Roland is without a gun. In a sword fight, I'm pretty sure Aragorn would win. I don't know if Roland has any sword training at all. Though he is proficient in using pretty much whatever weapon is at hand. So maybe a sword fight would end up in a draw. Until Roland's arthritic hip betrayed him, of course. In conclusion, Roland wins hands down if he has a gun. If not, it would be close, but I think Aragorn would come out on top.
