Beorn's probably not done yet. [In reply to] Can't Post

I expect his reveal at BO5A to be spectacular though and worth the wait! Smile

the dwarfs riding the chariot are going to the Raven Hill to send the message to Dain. I don't believe they are going all the way to the Iron Hills because it looks like they are all there with Thorin before the elves and men arrive .

Outstanding!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

There was so much in what PJ was calling a teaser trailer that I can not imagine what the full trailer will look like.

Bilbo narrating
Pippin singing
Smaug laying waste
Galadriel at Dol Guldur over Gandalf
Bilbo saying he will remember those who lived and who died
Thranduil and the woodland elves armored up and doing battle
Battle goats (o.k. some sort of ram)
Bard getting elven respect and asking the question
Thorin looking very Thror
That final question..
All in just over a minute....the movie will kill me!

LOL if Dain has shown up riding the boar I just might have died.

Yeah, me too [In reply to] Can't Post

surprised that we saw the golden armor, I figured that would be a big reveal in the movie itself after hearing RA comment that he thought it would be a memorable scene with all the dwarves charging out of the mountain in their gear. Ah well, it'll still be cool.

Anyone have an idea as to what he's doing! He appears to be holding Girion's sword.
Also, just noticed that the people that duck away from the cart appear to be Bain and Sigrid!

That title is familiar! And if I remember right - would make an excellent film - but the image of the goddess walking the battlefield has always stuck with me. Beautiful, but dark. I think she would dance and the poppies would come?

You wanted to know why the grading doesn't reflect the final film grading [In reply to] Can't Post

In Reply To
They could have color graded the shots to make them consistent within the trailer.

But what even color grading can't get fully rid off is the tendency of these movies (and LOTR too) to overdo it with bright studio lighting. I guess i was never a big fan of Andrew Lesnie...

And I explained its because they haven't gotten the final film cut and so the grading may change when they grade the shots of completed scenes so they fit together.

Good point. [In reply to] Can't Post

Of all the goosebumpy moments in ROTK, Pippin's song has the biggest emotional impact on me. To hear it sung again here just ratcheted up the epicness of the movie about tenfold: it really IS going to be that intense. But Bilbo wrote the song, and this is that dark hour that inspired him. I love that connection. The emotional parallel between Faramir's hopeless suicide charge and what we're seeing here is heartwrenching -- much more so than I was expecting!

Thorin's voice is just heartbreaking [In reply to] Can't Post

Just that one line has absolutely floored me. And Bilbo's voice at the beginning was perfect - the voice of someone who has seen great tragedy and been changed forever. What great actors.

And once again the world has not arranged itself just for me.

The great has already been stated---here are my frustrations [In reply to] Can't Post

1. The kid-like little scenes with zero gravity... Please don't overdo these again!
2. The color grading bothers me too. It all looks candyfied. However, the gritty scenes (galadriel, thranduil...) look fantastic. Very LOTR-esque. I think the candy landscapes are a Weta signature recently... Compare the scenes on the tower in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes with the scenes in the woods.

Great teaser.

Only the background (CGI) sky is the problem in my eyes. But they changed sky also from AUJ and DOS trailers to movies.
