I really can't see him following Planet of the Apes with Animal Farm (which it appears this episode of Planet borrowed heavily from).

Is it just coincidence that Legendary Pictures is making both this and the current Godzilla films? I hope that we aren't heading for a remake of King Kong Vs. Godzilla! For one thing, Kong would have to be a lot bigger.

I got the impression that he would move forward with WB's Jungle Book before Animal Farm. I don't believe he's said anything to that effect, so that is only my opinion. Unless you've heard that he is going on to AF first, of course.

2 years after the final LOTR movie, we got King Kong. 2 years after the final Hobbit movie (notably prequels to LOTR), we're getting a prequel to King Kong.
