I think we'll get a teaser poster soon (tomorrow?) Can't Post

Tomorrow marks a week until the Comic Con preview. So marketing for the various Comic Con events will start up tomorrow. We should see the first poster for The Battle of the Five Armies within the next three days. Hopefully tomorrow Smile

If you remember for AUJ, a week before Comic Con we got that Gandalf poster Smile

Maybe, but [In reply to] Can't Post

The teaser trailer itself still hasn't been listed at the Alberta recently classified trailers page, despite having been listed at the BBFC page, so I'm not sure that anything is imminent.

It doesn't need to be on Alberta for an online release... [In reply to] Can't Post

...only if it's going straight to cinemas.

not sure that is true [In reply to] Can't Post

I know that some people have said that, but the evidence that I have seen is that teaser trailers get listed there before they are released online, even if they aren't also released to the cinemas.
However, time will tell.

Mockingjay Pt. 1 teaser. [In reply to] Can't Post

It wasn't on Alberta before it was released online.

I wouldn't get your hopes up if I wasn't sure [In reply to] Can't Post

It's definitely coming in the next three days, the only thing I'm unsure about is whether it'll be tomorrow. But 98% certain it'll be out by Friday. 2% it'll be out in the weekend.

If I'm wrong and there's no poster at all (maybe they're doing some sort of secretive stealth marketing, keeping quiet and then unveiling huge Smaug statue outside the hall or something). Then I will eat my hat and put it on Youtube.

No, it is not required [In reply to] Can't Post

There's no way to legally make a studio register the trailer for an online release. That's only for the cinema, where things can be restricted and regulated.

How many Tolkien fans does it take to change a light bulb?

Agreed! Probably my joint favourite ME poster along with.... [In reply to] Can't Post

...these two!

The teasers are always so awesome and the most artistic. It's a shame that with such blockbusters the marketing team always want to get the most in they can for the final theatrical posters, thus we end up with the floating heads (for which TTT was a truly awful example)

There is not design to it, it's just random, oddly sized heads :P [In reply to] Can't Post

.... but each to their own I guess.

This was probably my favourite of the TTT posters, again, a teaser. (luckily the actual trailer was possibly my favourite of them all, so the marketing redemeemed itself here).

Those and others... [In reply to] Can't Post

... are the reason why I never supported the "TH posters are inferior to LotR" argument.

"I am afraid it is only too likely to be true what you say about the critics and the public. I am dreading the publication for it will be impossible not to mind what is said. I have exposed my heart to be shot at." J.R.R. Tolkien

We all have our hearts and minds one way or another invested in these books and movies. So we all mind and should show the necessary respect.

Floating head posters normally bother me [In reply to] Can't Post

But I actually quite like this one. The only thing I can't handle is the teeny tiny Gimli growing out of Aragorn's shoulder. It's just a bit weird. I suppose it would save Gimli's legs during long marches, as he could just hop on the ranger's shoulder for travel.
