So you think you know your Tolkien names?
I know, I know! – Bracegirdle is at it again, but here’s an easy fun name game I found: Rules: Name a Tolkien “person” or place. (Let’s keep it to The Hobbit, LotR, and The Silmarillion - books only please.) The next person gives a name which starts with the last letter of the previous name. NOTE: Naturally, anyone that reuses a name or breaks the chain will be whipped (“Where there’s a whip there’s a will!”) and spend eleventy-one days in the Lockholes! Examples: Olori(n) – Nor(i) – Isildu(r) … and on and on…. I’ll start with Isildur – Next?

What about epithets? Would the next letter be 't' or 'n'? Would the Witch King be simply that? Or would he be the Witch King of Angmar? Sorry, I don't mean to poke holes. I'll put down anything remotely sharp now....

The "rules" state NO REPEATS! And it depends on your choice - use either Radagast (t) or Radagast the Brown (n). (Clarification: clean up questions now!)

Radagast and Radagast the Brown would NOT be a repeat. SO WE'RE STILL AT ISILDUR . . . .

aka. fili orc-enshield +++++++++++++++++++ the scene, as i understand it, is exceptionally well-written. fili (in sort of a callback to the scene with the eagles), calls out "thorRIIIIIIN!!!" just as he sees the pale orc veer in for the kill. he picks up the severed arm of an orc which is lying on the ground, swings it up in desperation, effectively blocking the pale orc's blow. and thus, forever after, fili is known as "fili orc-enshield." this earns him deep respect from his hard-to-please uncle. as well as a hug. kili wipes his boots on the pale orc's glory box. -- maciliel telpemairo

btw, i had to read the "hador" post upthread a couple of times, as i kept reading it as "hodor." i will also note that it is unlikely that anyone will be able to name feanor, finduilas, finarfin, fingolfin, fingon, finwe, findegil, faramir, falathrim, fornost, or falas. cheers -- .
