How many times have you seen DOS? (redux) Can't Post

I asked the same question back in February (http://newboards.theonering.net/...;;page=unread#unread), but it's been awhile since then.

So, what's your score now?

13 in the theater, BlackFox [In reply to] Can't Post

Blush but I haven't even opened the DVD yet.... I'm a baaaad fan. Just had too much going on lately. (I have watched AUJ though - its a comfort film for me.)

Once [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm not the biggest fan of this trilogy, and I rarely see a film more than once at the cinema anyway, DOS theatrical wasn't enjoyable enough to me to buy a copy on DVD, but I intend to watch the EE at least once before BOTFA (if only out of sense of morbid curiosity, I have very little enthusiasm left at this point), and possibly once more when the 'big box set' comes out.

I picked 3-5 [In reply to] Can't Post

Twice in the theater, and twice since getting the DVD. Well, technically maybe 2 1/4 times --I started watching it once but stopped after Beorn's house and just never got back to it Blush

Thinking on it, with AUJ it was quite different. I saw it twice in theaters, as well, but when I got the DVD I was watching it almost every night for the first 2 weeks or so! Cool

Once was enough. [In reply to] Can't Post

Haven't even gotten the Blu-ray yet. Too disappointing. I'll probably just wait for the EE and hope for the best.

As a frame of reference, i saw all the LotR movies in the theater 10-12 times, and bought the TE and EE dvds day one and watched them and the Appendices and the commentaries dozens of times. AUJ just twice in the theater, and watched the TE and EE Blu-rays once or twice.

Twice was more than enough. [In reply to] Can't Post

I went with my son & family in TX, and then took my granddaughter here in HI. No desire to see it again, though I'll probably get the EE and have a look.

I saw FotR 4x in theatres (one of which was the EE), TTT 4x, and RotK 11x, and watched the EEs of all many times. No desire to do this with The Hobbit, unfortunately.

4, I think. [In reply to] Can't Post

3 times in theaters, and once since acquiring the Blu-Ray. Haven't had the time to get much more in, but I'm looking forward to watching it a few more times before BoFA.

Tonight will be my 14th viewing... [In reply to] Can't Post

since I've seen it a total of 11 times in theaters (all in 3D, once in the new HFR 3D, and 10 times in the regular RealD 3D) and two (three after tonight) times on DVD in 2D (although I bought the 3D Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, I can't afford to upgrade to Blu-ray just yet, so I'll be watching the DVD until I can). It looks much better on a larger TV screen. My old TV was dying, but luckily my parents had a newer older one. With this new one, I don't even have to move it, since the screen is so large (it's a 28 incher, quite a bit larger than my old one, which was just a piddly 20 incher) that I can sit in front of my couch to watch movies (but I always move a little closer when viewing the Hobbit movies, for obvious reasons).Smile

Includes 4 viewings in the theater, 1 from On Demand TV before the DVD came out, and I think 2 full viewings of the DVD.

I tend to have it on in the background. [In reply to] Can't Post

Usually when I'm typing up work or tidying the house. I will alternate with the other movies as well. So I've lost count. At a guess, I would say between 20 and 30.

I saw it twice as well. It was really more than enough. May get the EE, maybe not. It is not really a priority. I do not hate it the way I know some do, but sadly it really has not made much of an impression on me.
