Azog the Defiler, the commander of the necromancer's legions in dol-guldur. Smaug, a giant fire breathing dragon that seized Erebor. Sauron, who ordered Azog to hunt him down. Wow...

The flames of war are upon you.

Don't forget Thranduil [In reply to] Can't Post

While not a "bad" character in the traditional sense he does want to toss Thorin in
a cell for a hundred years.

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
So, what did Thorin stand up for?

Thorin opened up old wounds [In reply to] Can't Post

Thorin really represents a change in what Middle Earth politics had been for the past several years. The Necromancer was trying to conceal himself upon the best time to reveal his power. Thorin represents a threat to that power, especially if he kills Smaug.

Thranduil, as I think is obvious, is dealing with old hurts of both the danger of a dragon (ouch) and the slight by Thror. It is essentially payback on his part, especially when Thorin makes his comments.

Azog-has a vendetta, but it corresponds with the Necromancer and his plans. It certainly is a bit of a problem for Azog, who would rather just kill Thorin and not be leading the army, but he has his orders.

Mainly, with Thorin, I see him upsetting the apple cart of ME, much in the way Gandalf does at the White Council :)

Thorin kind of made Thranduil an enemy of his, he could have made the deal but he let his hatred take over.

Gundabad [In reply to] Can't Post

It's from the 2006 videogame LOTR: Battle for Middle-earth II and it represents Mount Gundabad.

However, Thranduil, while well within his right to request the box, did not exactly make the best overtures of friendliness. So, I can't blame it entirely on Thorin either. Both are at fault.
