He says something along the lines of:

"The new Hobbit will be better. More Orc vs Elf and more Dwarf vs Dragon"

No, I don't think so. [In reply to] Can't Post

Of course there will be lots of Orc vs Elf, at the Bof5A, but also likely more in the Dol Guldur storyline as well. Remember, the last we saw of Legolas was him tearing off after Bolg. So that's nothing new.

As for dwarf vs dragon, remember there are 4 dwarves in Laketown with Bard and I expect they will be fighting alongside him during Smaug's attack.

Dwarf vs. Dragon action probably in Lake-town. [In reply to] Can't Post

The link is not working for me. The Dwarves remaining in Esgaroth probably try to aid in the town's defense.

Ikr? [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't count the number of times I've heard an announcer say Smog. Even when I saw DOS in IMAX, there was this thing before the movie where they had an announcer with a terribly fake Irish accent going on and on about how the IMAX theater systems worked and that he hoped we'd enjoy this showing of the Desolation of Smog. The second he said that, my aunt and I, at the exact same time said "Smaug!" Lol

If anyone besides Bard kills Smaug [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm flying to New Zealand and raising hell, who's with me?

No seriously, what other dwarves could come into contact with Smaug? A dying Kili? Or the doctor Oin? The Drunk Bofur? The weaponless Fili? Ok, maybe it was a spur of the moment comment that we should all just ignore? I'm sure it means nothing.

Bofur has had time to sober up, Kili is no longer poisoned, and there should be time to equip Fili between the time when Smaug is spotted and the start of his attack. Oin can provide support for the others. But it seems pretty clear that Bard will slay the dragon.

I believe the dwarves will just aid Bard in getting to the windlance. As long as the dwarves to directly come into contact with Smaug I'm okay with it. Tongue

I think the windlance will burn [In reply to] Can't Post

Smaug will no doubt remember that Girion used a windlance to shoot at him all those years ago and IMO it will be the first thing he destroys. Then, just as all hope seems lost, Bard will have no choice but to use his big ol' bow to shoot the Black Arrow and that's how Smaug will die. I hope that's how it happens anyway.Smile
