If we're talking meals, then chicken korma or beef stroganoff.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." But I'm off sugar at the moment and mostly eating vegan, so right now, it's guacamole. Have yet to discover a point at which I've had too much guacamole.

because now all I can think about is how much I want one of those. No Dunkin Donuts here. In fact the Mister and I were shocked and appalled to find out that the Twin Cities had no 24 hour donut places. We had them all over the Michigan cities we'd lived in. But the gas stations carry them here. The SA (SuperAmerica) chain has fresh baked goods daily. So... not fresh from the fryer but pretty good.

And I have a weakness for chocolate and peanut butter together (but oddly enough I don't like Reese's stuff), so I go for a chocolate-peanut butter shake. And as far as sweets go, I like the dark chocolate. See's Candies makes a great sugar-free dark chocolate bar (and peanut clusters).

No Dunkin' Donuts in that metropolitan area? That would be like...like...like not having any Starbucks! That's funny about the gas stations. The ones in my area are mostly small convenience stores, no baked goods!

They had been here when we first moved here in the 80s. But then they left. And they (nor any other donut store) were ever open all night. They are, apparently, returning to Minnesota. But I'm still not sure they'll be open all night! The only baked good that SA (and maybe another major franchise, Holiday) sells is pastries - donuts, muffins, etc. One can't find good bread or anything. :-)

My canned favorite is Campbell's, but I love tomato soup, so I will eat all of it. There's a carry-out gourmet shop in my neighborhood (very dangerous for wonderful food) and they make a great home-made tomato soup.

I don't really count sweets as being 'comfort food!' I like macaroni of any shape with lots of cheddar cheese, but my favourite way to eat it is baked, with egg and cheddar.
