...with my prediction after the movie came out ($265m domestic / bellow $700m foreign). *pats myself on the back* Let's hope TABA can hit $1b again...

ROTK had a boost mainly due to better exchange rates (strong Euro and Yen for instance) compared to FOTR & TTT. TABA won't have that advantage.

I said $950mil about 2 months back and it turned out accurate. hahha I do myself proud, though sad to see it not break the big $1 Billion! However, I expect There and Back and Again with the last in the series push should churn out those numbers!

Even tho I am waiting on my collector set, I would not object to seeing DOS in a good theater again, if I could.

It's the last part, the finale and will feature Smaug & the Bo5A. Peter Jackson's final Middle Earth film, death, tragedy, the end of an adventure. It likely won't take home all the Oscars as ROTK did, and maybe not any, but I think it has the potential to bring in more money than any other ME film. Only about a year until we know for sure!

to our ME film experiences for the foreseeable future. Looking forward to the VLOGS, and EE of DOS especially. One year from now we will be doing the same, awaiting the EE of TABA. After that, well, it is hard to put into words but after LOTR ended there was a glimmer of hope that someday The Hobbit would be made. The speculative question is whether the studios will try to come up with some ME stories out of mostly whole cloth based on gaming developments.

but it's disappeared. I do regret not seeing it in 3D, just for comparison. I'm hoping that some cinemas will do the three films this coming November, for those that missed either 1 or 2 - or both.

...is still three weeks behind in reporting and Japan went well over $10m and is up-to-date. Up-to-date China may not see it hit $960m but maybe $955m, and maybe even $700m foreign.

I wish it had hit 1 billion but in the end the movie (for me) was fantastic so it is still a win/win. I have high hopes that TABA will hit 1 billion.
