How many brothers and sisters do you have? None? One? Two? Three? More than three? I have a younger brother.

My sister died at the age of 13 and and my brother died last year at the age of 40. My sister and I are still marching into senior citizenship. I'm the oldest of the four. Which wouldn't surprise anyone who knows me to learn I'm an oldest child. :-) (bossy? who, me?)

I have four sisters and one brother. I'm the oldest, my brother's the youngest and we are nine years apart. Growing up with four sisters all relatively close in age...is Hell.

I always amaze people when I tell them I have 4 siblings and 11 nieces and nephews. And starting from my oldest aunt (Dad's side), the birth order goes girl-boy-girl-boy-girl...all the way down to the youngest niece. How's that for a party trick?

All younger. My younger brother is 6 and I'm 23, so quite the range of ages.

My brother was 6 years younger than me. The worst possible interval: if we had been closer in age, we'd have played together (or, at least, fought). If he'd been younger, I might have "mothered" him. As it is, we had relatively little time together. We were separated most of our adult lives, but got back together when my mother died in 1984, and found we did, after all, have a lot in common. Unfortunately, he died only 4 years later. I'm still in touch with his children and their children, although we don't get to see each other often, as we live 5,000 miles apart.

Ages range from 38 to 17. I cannot count the number of sympathetic and pitiful looks I have garnered by disclosing this fact, nor the number of matchmakers who wink and say 'Well then you'll know how to treat my *insert female relation* right. You'll be the perfect husband! Have you met her yet?'
