Did it go bye-bye? [In reply to] Can't Post

Strangely it's been removed from the Target website and the news report about it has also been removed from the TORN website too. I wonder what happened. I didn't immediately purchase it, thinking the price might drop. Did it die altogether or is there some kind of gag order placed on the product?

Just a guess... [In reply to] Can't Post

When TORN removes information, it's usually at the request of the studio, so I'm guessing that Target didn't have permission to list it yet. Sometimes a retailer jumps the gun and releases information before the date it was supposed to be announced, which might give them an unfair advantage against their competitors who also have distribution rights. Or it might have been an inaccurate listing in some way, with certain information that was still subject to change and it wasn't supposed to go public until all the details were confirmed.

We'll probably get some official announcements soon.

It sounds as if it will be advertised in due time [In reply to] Can't Post

I've now noticed that another thread linked the official Blu Ray website and it does show the identical box set, sans most of the info regarding content... and no price nor links to purchase. So I think it's safe to say that the box will eventually be offered somewhere. I hope it's not exclusive to one store-chain, that would kill competitive pricing.

If I didn't already have the Argonath bookends, and ... [In reply to] Can't Post

the Gandalf and Bilbo bookends I would pop for this, although I didn't think DoS was up to par. It looks like a fan's dream.

But I do wish Bilbo were on the cover.

Seems to have an awful lot of discs for the theatrical version.... [In reply to] Can't Post

Do you think it might have been a possible design for the EE that has slipped out when it shouldn't? I didn't think they did collectors' editions on the theatrical versions
