     Desolation of Smaug wins VES Award  

headThe Desolation of Smaug has won its first award, taking out the VES Award for Outstanding Animated Character in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture for the most awesome of all dragons, Smaug!

Congratulations to Eric Reynolds, David Clayton, Myriam Catrin and Guillaume Francois.

Smaug was the best CGI character by far ... and I'm confident enough to say that it's a strong possiblity they'll win the same award next yearSmile
