Tolkienia Times Mad Libs: Help Needed! Can't Post

Hail and well met fellow Tolkienians!!

In the next issue of the Times, we will be using a lot more material submitted by anyone and everyone who is a citizen of our fair land. There is still some time for those wish to make a contribution to this. Here is the original advert, but keep your eye out for more in the next issue.

For this piece we will be assembling a collection of Mad Libs. If you have ever played, you know how much fun these can be!! Laugh Basically what we do is take a story, remove several words, and allow you to submit substitutions. However, you will not know the context of the story, and hilarity unavoidably ensuesSly. These are specially Tolkien-themed Mad Libs, and without further ado, I introduce our Middle-Earth Mad Libs.

The Rules

Simple, just submit your words in accordance with the parts of speech requested.

Please limit your participation to no more than 3 words per submission, and wait a few hours between your next post. Let's just give every one a fair chance to contribute. I have a good number of Mad Libs, as you can see, so don't be shy answering twice or more!!

Quick English review:

Noun- It names a person, place, or thing. (box, spear, hippopotamus, riverbed, etc...)

Plural Noun- It names more than one thing (boxes, spears, hippopotami, riverbeds, etc...)

Verb- It is an action word that describes what a noun does (run, slap, laugh, jump, dive, etc..)

Adjective [Adj.]- It describes a noun. (Red, small, crazy, wide, rabid, etc...)

Adverb [Adv.]- It describes how something is done and usually ends in the letters -ly (quickly, sloppily, sadly, angrily, etc...)

Part of the Body - Self explanatory, but let's stay within the TOS please, and keep it PG.

Number- Anything from 1 to infinity

Living thing- Anything that is alive (moss, cat, ferret, dinosaur, warg, ect...)

Occupation- Anything someone does as a job (Janitor, Politician, Policeman, Golfer, etc...)

Noise- Any sound you may hear, usually an onomatopoeia (Buzz, Pew-pew[laser fire], Bang, Ka-Boom, etc...)

I think that is about all that needs to be covered

Please number your submissions in accordance with the list:

Ex: The Post says-

9. Verb ending in -ed
10. Noun
11. Verb

You write

9. Heaved
10. Automobile
11. Grow

Just a few clarifications and suggestions.

Threaded mode may be best to see which words have been provided already. The submissions should be numbered in the subject line, thus you will know which words are already taken. We already have a repeat for #1(Verb) on the first Mad Lib, so we might want to use threaded view.

Remember, you can add more words, just give a few hours between your submissions.

Ok, I think I've got this... [In reply to] Can't Post

So I think I go
1) Confusticate
2) lembas
3) smite

...and eventually those pop up in a TOlkien text which, when reassembled might go "Blah blah confusticate blah blah blah lembas blah smite..."

let me know if I'm doing it wrong Smile

Disclaimers: The words of noWizardme may stand on their heads! I'm often wrong about things, and its fun to be taught more....

"nowimė I am in the West, Furincurunir to the Dwarves (or at least, to their best friend) and by other names in other lands. Mostly they just say 'Oh no it's him - look busy!' "
Or "Hold off! unhand me, grey-beard loon!"

Yep... [In reply to] Can't Post

Though I am not sure how you 'confusticate' something..., but it should be funny!!!Cool

BTW. The words don't have to be Tolkien related. It adds to the fun!!

I would suggest putting your answers in the heading of your post. [In reply to] Can't Post

That way, for us threaded readers, we know right away what words have been taken.

Good idea!! But let's try to start at 1 and finish it out, so nothing is skipped over [In reply to] Can't Post

If we pick random answers, then it would make it quite possible to miss something.

Let us also try to post no more than 3 at once.

Thanks for the idea!!!Smile
