Games Workshop army Can't Post

Hey everybody!!! So I am making a 750 point hobbit army for The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game which is a tapletop wargame. Anyway with the warbands rule I cannot field a purely hobbit army. However I still want my army to fit the theme of The Battle of Bywater. What I am wondering is if a contingent of Rangers of the North would still fit this theme? Thanks in advance!

That's the thing. I don't believe they were mentioned in the book but rangers of the north have always been known to help hobbits. And the passage in the book isn't that extensive so maybe they could have been there but not mentioned. Is that too much of a stretch though?
