--> A word about spoilers and spoiler tags Can't Post

It seems like some clarification is needed about spoiler tags now that DOS is out just about everywhere in the world, and TABA is almost a year away.

As of now:

1) spoiler tags are no longer needed for threads and posts about DOS.

2) we ask that you use spoiler tags for anything that is almost certainly going to be in (or not in) TABA that is real news, i.e., it came from interviews with PJ, WB, actors, etc.. Spoiler tags are not required on posts that contain your own speculation about what *might* be in TABA, only on things that are 100% confirmed or seem to be very likely rumors. Obviously, with TABA months away, genuine spoilers will be few and far between right now. A month or so before TABA opens, genuine spoilers will be everywhere. About that time, we'll re-post the announcement to consider avoiding the Hobbit board for those who want to remain spoiler-free.

3) spoiler tags for book spoilers are not required. The reality is that most of us who post here have read The Hobbit and want to discuss major plot points from the book that may or may not be in the movies. Requiring book spoiler tags would mean putting spoiler tags on almost every post, which isn't very practical. This isn't meant to exclude anyone who hasn't read the book! You're more than welcome here! However, if you haven't read the book, you *are* going to see book spoilers on this board, so each of you has to make your own decision as to whether you can live with that.

I'll sticky this post later today. Please post any questions in this thread and we'll try to answer them.

Thanks! Smile
