I wonder if posting frequency will go down as a result, with Thorin-ers (is there an official term out there? There must be...) logging in, only to click 'refresh'--but never post.
Personally, I'm hoping for a string of Bombur-in-the-barrel .gifs.

Not sure there is an official term Cats...perhaps Oakengirls? Having been christened a Minx I will gladly say Oakenminx. And you are right, it may negatively affect post rates! Oakengirls has a nice ring to it. Almost sounds like a band. Oakenminx is much more creative, though. I suppose CG deserves some credit there, if I'm not mistaken?
Perhaps CG needs to weigh in on this term.

(Here's proposition #1 for Bombur. Not a .gif, though. Have to wait for those...)

I helped put together the new Ring motifs using screenshots and promotional pictures from An Unexpected Journey, and I'll happily do it again if need be. I didn't make them until the DVD was released, so it won't be until a several more months.
I've had a couple of ideas of adding a couple more (to represent The Desolation of Smaug) but haven't spoken to the Powers that Be yet.

Do you remember the old Offical The Lord of the Rings website? When you clicked on the site, one of the actors would welcome you with something like: "Hi. This is Elijah Wood and welcome to thelordoftherings.net" (They've removed these since  ).
This is exactly what we need for the TORn forum:
"Hello Kim. This is Richard Armitage. You are great. And , uhm ... welcome to TheOneRing.net forum"
Anyone that is naughty gets this privilege removed. That'll keep everyone in place!
