Did anyone notice where the Wilhelm scream is in DoS?

Nope. [In reply to] Can't Post

Just the Goblin in AUJ.

In LOTR I only noticed it in TTT. Maybe somewhere in ROTK, bur not sure.

Two in ROTK and one in FOTR [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't remember the FOTR one but it is there I believe. The first ROTK scream is when a Gondorian is killed by a Wringwraith just before Gandalf comes riding out with his light beam staff. (awesome part btw, and I wish they hadn't included the scream there.) Also when Legolas is on top of the Mumakil, an Easterling charges him. Legolas dodges and the Easterling goes flying off the beast with the Wilhelm scream (much more appropriate here and should have been the only one in ROTK).

For DOS it was either absent, which is really odd for a PJ film (I'm not sure if King Kong had it, but Tintin did), or it was subtle and mixed in with a bunch of other noises. I've only seen DOS once and wasn't looking for the scream; this Saturday I will keep my ears opened and ready.

I've grown a habit of shouting "Wilhelm Scream" when I hear it... [In reply to] Can't Post

And I don't remember doing that at any point in DoS. So that's interesting. And in my opinion a promising sign, it does pull you out a bit when you hear it.

It was during the attack on Mirkwood [In reply to] Can't Post

when Bolg and his orcs attack the water gate being held against the dwarves.

I believe you can hear the scream when one of the orcs is pushed back and falls down the battlements and into the river.

I may be wrong but I believe it's there - even though, yes, it's difficult to hear it clearly amidst the other sounds.

Perhaps someone can confirm this ...? Smile

No Wilhelm Scream! [In reply to] Can't Post

We can only hope then...maybe that goblin in AUJ was named Wilhelm.

Why is it called the Wilhelm Scream? [In reply to] Can't Post

I've heard it in many movies over the years but I didn't know what it was called until I started reading these boards and I've never known where it came from . Can anyone tell me?
