This horse is extremely fast making Shadowfax appear like a turtle.

In a a few days he carries Gandalf from Mirkwood to the Misty Moutains, cross them, enter Rhudaur, cross again the Misty Mountains and carry Gandalf to Dol Guldur.

Weeks pass in between. Again. Never Thorin says at the beginning of going into Mirkwood, we have to be at the L.Mtn. tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow. There is no time to travel around the forest, but from the august like atmo when they enter the woods they end up there with the last light of 21 december. when the sun the next day will be on it's way back to mid summer sun.
