The Desolation of Smaug Twitter Reactions Thread Part 2 Can't Post

A few new reactions have been found by some TORn'ers and the other thread has got bumped to the next page so I thought i'd make a new one compiling all those that have been found so far.

Credit goes to Daemoon, Arannir, Thorin's Oakenshield and Estel78 for digging these up!

"I did like the movie! Great acting! Good action! The movie really moved."

A Chinese blogger has seen the movie, she said its way better than AUJ, gave it an A.
"Excellent action scenes designing, good pace, stunning VFX, most beautiful movie of the year."
http://weibo.com/lazycatlovemovie her weibo page(Chinese social networks)

Action packed, looked amazing, interesting plot departures, ended on cliffhanger.

And from someone who didn't enjoy AUJ:

@Hendyhendel: Saw HOBBIT this weekend. Believe it: absolute masterpiece. Best of the LOTR series. Stunning. STUNNING.

@Hendyhendel: @somebadideas @JimJarmuschHair ROTK is the best, though Two Towers has killer moments & FOTR is the most fun. 1st HOBBIT = way dull.

That sounds all VERY promising. [In reply to] Can't Post

Though if memory serves right, they sound similar to the enthusiastic Twitter reactions after the very first AUJ screenings and we know in hindsight they were a bit deceiving.

I'm slowly switching gears in my anticipation from neutral to cautiously optimistic.

TOLKIEN LIVES! New Stories - Stop the Cloning! [In reply to] Can't Post

If you want to support the same hollywood movies - by all means go buy a ticket.

But I am asking you fans to demand something different I say. "TOLKIEN LIVES!!!!!"

I want to be that guy who creates something new and this same Hero's Adventure story bs and story reboot after reboot has to come to an END.

Demand Hollywood do better.. that is all.

Yes [In reply to] Can't Post

we got mixed reaction of AUJ as well it must take some time. If the next 2 - 3 days the positive reactions still continue then we can expect the good reviews. For now I would not be off my guard .

"ROTK is the best" [In reply to] Can't Post

Ugh. Wow. I'm happy to hear that he liked it, but I'll take his enthusiasm with a grain of salt.

new one [In reply to] Can't Post

Again, it is hard to tell which ones are fake.

Courtney Lindsay (@courtneylindsay) twitterte am 6:42 AM on Mo., Dez. 02, 2013:
Just watched The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug.......excuse me while I cry of happiness.

All good stories deserve embellishment."

Praise is subjective. And so is criticism.

"I am afraid it is only too likely to be true what you say about the critics and the public. I am dreading the publication for it will be impossible not to mind what is said. I have exposed my heart to be shot at."

What's wrong with thinking ROTK is the best? [In reply to] Can't Post

It was rewarded 11 academy awards after all.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

So far, so good [In reply to] Can't Post

But ''ended on cliffhanger"? I'm not sure I would like that kind of ending.

- Good morning.
- What do you mean? Do you mean to wish me a good morning, or do you mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not? Or perhaps you mean to say that you feel good on this particular morning...or are you simply stating that this is a morning to be good on?

- Good evening.
- Yes, yes it is. Though I think it might rain later.

Just digging old thread about reaction from twitter [In reply to] Can't Post

After watching this thread

You will see a ton of positive reaction in this thread but what happend after this was ...... we already know.

So I think being pessimistic is a safe way for me until 2 - 3 pieces of reviews come out.

Thanks for digging that up! [In reply to] Can't Post

Very interesting to read these opinions from back in the day. Twitter reaction was indeed rather positive but there was already some venom from the press to be seen, too!

Exactly what I was thinking... [In reply to] Can't Post

RotK is my favorite! I don't know why anyone would think it's wrong for someone to love RotK the most. Honestly, I can understand why any of them would be someone's favorite. So I don't see why anyone would think that liking RotK most makes the reviewer lose credibility.

"Seriously, why was the scene with CGI dwarf ass NOT in the theatrical cut?!"

My favorite! [In reply to] Can't Post

While I loved all three LotR films, RotK was my favorite too. And as a general statement, a well-done conclusion to a film series I like is going to have a leg up with me, anyway. All the characters have been made known to me, all the major plotlines have been set in motion, so I can sit back and enjoy watching it all come together and wrap up.

Could be considered a **spoiler** but nothing major... [In reply to] Can't Post

It comes from a journalist who tweeted about waiting to go into a screening:

"The orcs in Hobbit are really the most incompetent army since the Iraqis"

Well that's not good [In reply to] Can't Post

it reminds me of the combat droids in star wars : even when surrounding unarmed heroes and outnumbering then by a factor of 20 to 1, you just knew they wouldn't do anything and be destroyed five seconds later

Even Uruk Hai were not that good fighters [In reply to] Can't Post

But that is how he waited for the screening:
2 hour 45 minute "Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" is really a screening that should start on time

Great attitude...Crazy

There were a few pre-screenings [In reply to] Can't Post

for press, etc. The premier is still today. However, there's an embargo until December 8, 12:01 PST, on revealing any details - notice that so far the comments are all limited to 'I liked it... it was great...' etc.. Anyone revealing anything else in a public forum risks the wrath of WB (as in the legal wrath).

In LOTR the orcs were as incompetent as always. They just suck big time lol.
