Catching fire-lotr reference Can't Post

Did anyone else catch the epic reference to LOTR in this movie? When Katniss is crouching behind the trees and grass in the climax scene, it exactly mimics the scene in Fellowship when the Hobbits are hiding from the Nazgul. There's no way that was a mistake

Very good catch! [In reply to] Can't Post

I didn't make the connection while watching it, but now that you mention it, it does feel very familiar.

I would never call that a mistake [In reply to] Can't Post

However, I will allow that it might be a coincidence.

it was very similar. If I recall it correctly, Katniss wedged herself into a hollowed out tree/root system in the lower right of the screen, and the person she was hiding from (Finnik?) was in the upper left of the screen. And then she was sitting up with a similar watching & listening posture

I wouldn't say it was done purposely, but overall it was quite a similar shot.

Nice catch!

I forgot to mention another one [In reply to] Can't Post

It seemed to me that the scene where Katniss was being carried away by the claw was very similar to the scene where Frodo is being carried away by the eagle.

Did anyone else notice that?
