AUJ EE - Region Codes Can't Post

So I finally received my UK Unexpected Journey DVD (the one with the awesome packaging).

Turns out, I can't play it here in the States due to a different region code.

Because the versions here in the U.S. all have crappy packaging, I'm very disappointed. Poor form, WB. Poor form.

The Grey Pilgrim, they once called me. Three hundred lives of men I walked this earth, and now I have no time...

Yes, I suspected I'd face that problem... [In reply to] Can't Post

... that is why I didn't get it Frown

If you have a region free DVD player hooked up to your TV, you should be able to play your DVDs. I have one so I may yet get myself the UK EE DVD set Laugh

Can you get your dvd player changed to multi-region? [In reply to] Can't Post

I just took mine to a local dealer / workshop and they changed it for me on the spot, and free.
I have no idea if you can do that where you live. (I am in NZ).
Lots of my DVD's come from Amazon and I would never be able to play them on a DVD player that was only set for my region.

Thanks.... [In reply to] Can't Post

... I might try that.

Or get my tech-savvy brother to do it, if he knows how.

Buyer Beware. [In reply to] Can't Post

Poor form that their US copy has an ugly copy, yes. But, you should only import DVD's if you're sure you have the hardware suitable to play them. Region coding has been around for over a decade, and it's not just WB that does it.
