You can have Thranduil, and I'll take Thorin. I will be at the midnight show, so that means I get dibs before Old Toby. Sounds like a pretty perfect anniversary to me! Let's see, if excitement could be measured in water droplets...sounds like a paper topic for DanielLB!

Yeah, I used to do the midnight shows. Then I had kids. The thought of staying out past midnight now makes my head hurt! I was tempted to go ahead and buy tickets for the next day, too, but I figured I won't be too greedy. Yet! I fear my two boys are going to be hassling me no end to take them to see it on opening weekend, so we may all be going then. However, I'm not convinced they can manage to stop talking for three whole hours. nor am I sure I can trust them to close their eyes when things get too scary! Sheesh, it's looking like I'm going to get Thranduil all to myself. Go me!

I'm *trying* not to be too greedy. I may give in once I've seen the movie though. But I dunno, there's just something about that sassy Elf...

That whole nose-to-nose bit just might make me SQUEEEE loudly right in the theatre. I do hope the speakers are turned up loud then to drown me out. But I do have to ask: is Thorin standing on a box right there? 'Cos he and Thranduil ought to be more like nose-to-bellybutton, at their proper heights.

either Thorin is on a box, or that's just a rehearsal. But you just know Thorin is going to be full of #majestic attitude in any case. And now I'm excited all over again!

Could be a great movie unto itself. I wonder if Thranduil could replicate the famous scene in the diner...you know, the one that I really shouldn't discuss here. And then Thorin looks at him and says, "I'll have what he's having."

I was too young with LOTR-only 13 in 2000 (plus I didn't even know it existed- and no, I didn't live under a rock- unless you count psycho controlling parents ) And I have two beautiful albeit small girls (4 and 19 almost 20 months)....plus husband works retail, so he's going to be working that weekend.... So unless I can find a babysitter, I will be stuck til his next day off... And you should feel blessed that your kids are at least old enough to conceivably go see the movie....though my 4 year old has completely fallen in love with "mommy movie" and since I told her there's another one coming in December and she's seen the trailers with me she is BEGGING to see the spiders and the dragon! (I have absolutely NO idea where she gets that from-I HATE spiders....) Heck, even my 19 month old will sit still with me and watch the trailer, and when it goes off she yells "da'gen!" and won't stop squawking til I replay it! It's nice to see you again Ro!
Race is meaningless. We all bleed red-no matter who or what we are. What matters is the heart. For each race has those with good hearts and those with bad hearts. You have a good heart. You do not deserve to die.
