The Hobbit DOS Visual Companion & Official Movie Guide Can't Post

Hey there,

Got those two bad boys 4 days ago and read quite a bit of it. I have the previous ones for AUJ and I gotta say these are pretty disappointing. It kind of feels a lot like they're holding back by fear of spoiling. Lot of retread stuff from AUJ (like retelling what happened in the first movie), very little new info about The Desolation Of Smaug.

Blurry promo pictures or trailer caps (that, I can't understand, how they can cheap out like this), pretty much stuff that we've all seen for a while.

The character profiles in the movie guide bring nothing new to the table, it's still pleasant to read but it really feels lazy overall, especially when I'm just in the middle of watching the superb bonuses from the extended edition.

I think this could be a thread where we can post impressions on the books, and make it a bit more visible.

Blunt the knives, bend them forks, smash the bottles and burn the corks.

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates !
