I challenge anyone to watch this without a wee tear in their eye. Can't Post

Google's new ad. (Scroll down to get to the video.)

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauronís master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

... the challenge.

It reminded me a little of being at the funeral viewing for my brother when someone approached me.

M....? (she said) It's me. Helen M....

Lenny?

And there stood my best friend from 9th grade, 45 years ago.

yup. you win.

from both of us.
Goodness gracious.
And it's important to read the article first, or at least later, for those of us from elsewhere.
Goodness gracious.

This happened to me too [In reply to] Can't Post

Except it was for my grandfather's viewing.

Everyone approached my mother and uncle but forgot that my brother and I were raised by him too and were feeling like we had lost our father just as much as them.

Except for one person who came just for me. She was my friend in grade school. We were separated when I moved. We moved a few times before finally moving in with my grandpa. I turned around and saw her and we said each other's name at the same time, which was funny because we have the same first name. I will never forget that. We were 30 years older but knew each other immediately.

Yeah...

'scuze me. Need a kleenex.

Where there's life there's hope, and need of vittles.

Yes, well, I knew from the beginning that I never had a chance! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm very sentimental.

What a wonderful ad!

Yesterday a Wal-Mart employee and I were marveling at how the entire world is at our fingertips through our cell phones. Nothing like having a powerful little computer with you at all times! I can get the answer to practically anything I want to know in mere seconds.

We live in amazing times.
