I downloaded the extended edition on itunes - I apologize if I sound like a nitwit but how do I get to the appendices?

when you select the movie, right near the top where the title is there should be a 'play iTunes extras' button which will lead you to the appendices.

I was watching from the videos app and not directly from itunes - that explains it.
