john howe alan lee original artwork Can't Post

does anyone know where i can acquire an original pencil drawing by either lan lee or john howe? obviously the paintings are way out of my budget, and im not into reproductions. I own a few pieces of original art, and id love an original work , preferably lotr inspired! by either of these two titans!

it really would be the centre piece of my humble collection!
any help for contacts or links would be really appreciated! either form the artists or on the secondry market! thanks

Hard one... [In reply to] Can't Post

If you're lucky enough to meet Alan somewhere he might do a sketch for you. He has drawn a hobbit hole in my FOTR book at a convention.

Do either of them have agents? [In reply to] Can't Post

I know Ted Nasmith has an agent in the UK. I am not sure if either Alan Lee or John Howe have agents but John Howe has a website that you could contact him on and request prices for pencil sketches.

Alan Lee can be contacted through Harper Collins publishers.

I have no idea how long it would take to get a reply but i imagine they are incredibly busy so might be a while, especially for Alan Lee seeing as there is no direct email.

They are probably all Middle-earthed out currently but i imagine if you just want a sketch they have already done then they would be happy to sell one and if you are looking for something original which you are requesting them to do, then expect to pay a very large sum of money for painting and still lots for sketches.

If all that fails then you will have to catch them at a book launch/exhibition. Smile
